In light of the celebration of World Press Freedom Day, UNESCO MIL Alliance Asia Pacific Chapter and the Philippine Association for Media and Information Literacy (PAMIL) hosted the Conversations with Asian MIL Experts last May 8, 2021, at 3:00 – 5:00 PM Manila Time (GMT+8). This event featured the following Asian MIL experts as panelists: Prof. Ramon R. Tuazon of the Philippines, Dr. Sabariah Mohamed Salleh of Malaysia, Prof. Jun Sakamoto of Japan, and Dr. Kyoko Murakami of Japan. Dr. Maria Margarita A. Acosta of the Philippines served as the moderator. How does freedom of the press appear in several Asian contexts, especially those distinct from Western democratic landscapes? What are the notable developments in MIL education in their respective countries? How is MIL education relevant to the Freedom of the Press?
